Hello, my name is Jordan Longenecker, and I’m an illustrator from Monroe, Georgia. I’m a sucker for a pretty package design, poster, postcard, magazine cover, etc. I love being surrounded by pretty things, and I want to make pretty things. I have loved drawing and have been surrounded by art my whole life with my dad as a director of photography in Atlanta. I began to work with him in the film industry wrapping cables and assisting on shoots. My superpower of my creative ability was found, and I began working in the art department on shoots. As fun as the film environment was, I wanted to learn how to understand art. I enrolled at the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2021 and graduated in 2023 with my BFA in Illustration with a concentration in animated illustration and publication design.

Artist Statement 

What can I say, I love to look at beautiful things. I love to take unassuming small things, such as a bug, and make it something to be worth looking at. I splash color and pattern on to ordinary things in hopes viewers will get as excited as I get about something as simple as a chair or lamp. To add my little stamp of joy on things is my favorite thing about illustration. I want to make that packaging you keep on the shelf because it’s just too nice to be thrown away.
